AT HOME WITH KARL

Global fashion and accessories label Karl Lagerfeld and Emirati real estate developer Taraf announced a deal to build luxury villas in Dubai. It will be Karl Lagerfeld’s third residential real estate project worldwide, and the first in the Middle East and as per the company’s statement, ” the Dubai villas will give a glimpse of the Hamburg-born designer’s eclectic world, celebrating the DNA encapsulated in his motto ‘Embrace the present and invent the future.”

While no specific delivery date has been set yet, fashion savvy customers and fans of “The Kaiser” can get a head-start with planning the interiors.

Karl Lagerfeld Maison, the fashion brand’s new interior branch, debuted during last Milan Design Week with a first collection created in collaboration with interior designer Matteo Nunziati. We will probably never know, but what we do know as we visit the showroom in Via Passione 8, Milan is that the collection of furniture, lighting and home decoration shares the designer’s iconic vision and design aesthetic fused with a contemporary, forward-looking spirit. Its diverse collections and collaborations are rooted in a spirit that recognizes Karl Lagerfeld was more than a man, but an icon, an inspiration, and a force of nature on the future’s edge.

The lines that make up the collection take their names from the Parisian neighborhoods and places most loved by Karl: Saint Germain and Saint Guillaume for  living room and bedroom interiors, the Quai Voltaire for kitchens and the Rue de L’Universite for the lighting collection.
