On Saturday Dior in showcased the cruise 2024 collection in Mexico. The collection designed in collaboration with local artisans comes after the Mexican government had previously accused certain international fashion houses of cultural exclusivity.
Dior showcased the collection at Antigo Collegio de San Ildefonso, a colonial-era building located next to Templo Mayor in central Mexico City.
Creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri presented lace and embroidered dresses inspired by Mexican cultures.
Models dressed in bright colored, white or black outfits embroidered with traditional roses in black and white and pink dresses inspired by traditional Mexican dresses were reminicent of outfits worn by women of indigenous communities in Oaxaca and Chiapas and Puebla.
