THE FINAL SHOWDOWN OF FASHION

THE FINAL SHOWDOWN OF FASHION

As widely known, Paris is the capital of fashion and home of the  biggest luxury labels such as Louis Vuitton, Dior and  Chanel. The last of the big four fashion weeks  the most prolific designers of the city of love presented some jaw-dropping collections this season.

Through a modern lens, Louis Vuitton showed inspirations from the 70’s trench coat to the 80’s ski jackets. Chanel continues the simple take of the label with a fresh perspective while classics were reinterpreted for  Celine’s fall collection.

It was back to black for the opening of a darkly romantic Valentino show.  As for Givenchy, a sharp and sleek collection where black, white and red dominated.

Anthony Vaccarello mined the ’90s “well-behaved and overly bourgeoisie elegance” for Saint Laurent  that leveraged latex and ladylike jackets while Maria Grazia Chiuri wore her politics on her sleeves creating a collection that commented on women’s rights in a profound way for Dior.

Elie Saab is always sure to add a dose of red-carpet glamour onto the catwalk, and delivered a vast collection of Oscar-worthy gowns. Rochas reintroduced his greatest hits for fall 2020 with bold colors of orange and violet that kept the mood light on the catwalk.
