HERMES’ DANCE IN THE DESERT

HERMES’ DANCE IN THE DESERT

For spring-summer 2023 Hermes creative director Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski invites us to a dance in the desert, where the daylight gives way to the acid-bright shades of dusk. Colors speed by with the passing hours, coursing over agile and ethereal looks inhabited by lightness. Discover some of the key looks of one of the season’s strongest collections and one of our favorites.

A wandering wardrobe and utilitarian references

Rich and versatile pieces transform as the hours progress. Utilitarian pieces seemingly cut from a tent, embroidered and perforated leather, bodies and materials in consonance with the sunset. The morning’s earthy shades illuminate technical and nomadic clothing.

Skillful textures and evening evanescence

Delicate leather work is deployed in a palette of browns full of suppleness and breadth. The burning sunlight hits sequins in lambskin, graduated perforations, interplays of braiding and crochet, forming athletic and feminine pieces. Come sunset, all is effervescent and fluid. Flags become asymmetric dresses floating over the dune, bright pinks and reds come together on light and adjustable pieces.

The new must have bags & shoe

Hermes of course was not short in introducing new styles of what the French luxury maison does best: the ultimate handbags.  The Kelly got a revamp with feathers, so did a bucket bag. Add a large crescent shape shoulder bag and a fabulous  XXL shopper and that show-stopping new sandal!
