How’s the quarantine going? It is normal if you feel insecure, anxious, fearful or even bored. But all those emotions weaken our immune system (science proved it), and we don’t want that right now with that virus roaming around. It is in difficult times when I find the yoga lifestyle even more relevant to bring peace to our minds, energy to our bodies and power back into our spirit. Staying positive and empowered is what we need!
I am sharing my daily routine during this time of confinement:
- Wake up with gratitude and don’t check your whatsapp, social media and news for the first one or two hours. Actually, minimize your exposure to the news, as they affect your mood,
- Practice daily exercise for at least 20mins. It increases your positivity and strengthens the immune system. Make it fun! There are plenty of dancing workouts, exercise and yoga videos available online to do to at home. You are invited to join me for a live online yoga classes!
- Breathing: try 50-100 breaths with full awareness, see the difference in your mind and energy level. Keeps your heart healthy and your mind calm. Do this after your exercise!
- Meditation, Gratitude and/or Prayer… Go within, connect with yourself… your spiritual health will be reflected in your physical health. Prayer is powerful… do not pray with fear, pray with love and gratitude. Write a note with (at least) 10 things you are grateful for today, in silence give thanks for them. CLICK HERE to enjoy a short meditation I prepared to change worries into blessings. You can add music, candles or burn incense to create an inviting atmosphere.
- Don’t stay in your PJj’s all day! Shower, put comfy and/or nice clothes and maybe a bit of lipstick… You need to feel pretty and within your feminine power.
- Work on your regular job, on a new idea, helping others (maybe elderly neighbors who need our help) or working to maintain the house afloat.
- Prepare healthy homemade food. Add daily to your breakfast: echinacea, propolis, turmeric, ginger, thyme (prepared as herbal tea), Vitamin C and organic honey. All for a strong immune system. In yoga we consider that food is energy… choose what energy you put into your body.
- Positive mindset + humour (oh yes, this is vital!). Be aware of your thoughts. Each time a negative thought comes, change it into a positive thought and breath.
- Read an inspiring book that increases your soul’s wisdom, such as “You can Heal your Life” by Louise Hay or “The Code of the Extraordinary Mind” by Vishen Lakhiani.
- Chat with someone you love, especially if you are alone during the lock down. Organize a tea or a dinner with friends over a video conference. Not only is it fun, the loving energy helps us feeling supported and connected.
- Ideally don’t check screens one hour before going to sleep. The blue light of the phones/tablets/laptops activate the brain. Lastly go to bed with gratitude in your heart and send out your energy/good wishes to your family, friends and the whole world!
